THE HALF TOP KNOT

IMG_4143

I easily get stuck in a rut, doing the same thing with my hair each day (messy curls) so when I see a fun style I make myself try it at least once.  What do you guys think of the half top-knot?

One of my tricks that I’ve learned over the past couple years blogging is that everything looks better with balance.  If you have a piece that’s really girly and bright – balance is with a neutral, boyish piece.  For example, this pink skater skirt is very flared and, well, PINK. So I paired it with a basic grey t-shirt.  For me, this makes the skirt so much more wearable.

Same goes for crazy, fun heels.  It’s harder to match them with a skirt or dress because you’re just going to feel like your outfit is drawing too much attention.  Next time you’re in a predicament with how to wear something… thing about balance.

Why do girls love skirts and dresses with pockets?? We just do!

I think I am a fan of the top knot : )

Check out this beautiful Ipad case from Zero Gravity! I’ve been on the lookout for a cute one since I got my Ipad mini a few months ago.  Zero Gravity has the cutest Iphone and Ipad cases I’ve seen.  I got a phone case too that I will share soon!

DRESSING IN MY DREAMS

Simple black t-shirt and shorts – matched with some amazing accessories.  Espadrilles are hot right now and I think I’ve narrowed my favorites down to these awesome Rebecca Minkoff ones.  They are a little reminiscent of the classic Chanel ones, but much more affordable : ) Summery lips and the ever-coveted Goyard tote make this outfit complete perfection to me right now.  Oh, dressing in my dreams…

TRIPLE SHINE

IMG_4101

Spring is the time of year when I am drawn to pretty things like flowers, desserts and fruit…  pinks, purples and pastels… AND the time I start thinking about getting a tan, working out, and manicuring my nails! Hey, we all want to look good for summer : )

A couple of days ago I received a package from Sally Hansen to try their new Triple Shine nail polish.  The colors are so vibrant and fun, perfect for spring/summer.  I just recently transitioned to doing my nails myself because of how expensive it is to get a gel manicure done in LA. I have been doing plenty of nail polish sampling over the last couple months and a few things really impressed me with the Sally Hansen Triple Shine:

1. Some serious shine! I didn’t even need to put on a top coat.

2. They last! Nail polish starts to chip on my nails usually the same day I apply but the Triple Shine was meant to stand water and wear with its Ultimate Shield Complex.  They are lasting and that is a big deal for me.

3. Vibrant color – 29 different shades to choose from, all bright and fun.
