I’ve been toying with the idea of chopping my hair off for a few months now and after visiting New York I realized I want that city look! I did really like my long, ombre hair but it just hasn’t been fitting my style lately… I went to my usual spot, Spoke and Weal – Lindsay did the cut and Dell put a temporary rich brown on the top layer of my hair and left some of the ombre highlights to peak through. I’m really happy with the outcome! I’m still learning how to style it though.
Speaking of ‘city look’ – a few weeks ago I stumbled across an awesome boutique here in downtown LA called Pale Violet. The owner is so sweet and I really love all the brands she is carrying. The jacket and pants in this outfit are from there and I think they are definitely accomplishing the city look I’ve been going for.

It’s black and white – some decisions aren’t that easy…
I’ve spent the last couple of weeks since NYFW trying to figure out what my life looks like right now since I continue to find myself in a state of “in between.” It feel like each month my goals and focus shift a little bit and then I spend the next few weeks trying to figure out what a “typical” day or week looks like. Does this happen to anyone else??
Maybe part of it is because I’m somewhat self-employed… maybe it’s because I want to do too many things… ha!
It seems October is going to be no different. I’ve decided to prioritize my blog (yay!) and I’m in the midst of figuring out my job focus – whether it will be LOVE NAIL TREE (our business) or jump into another great job opportunity that has come up. I also joined the Equinox gym in downtown – it’s so nice and I’m very excited to take some yoga, pilates and Barre method classes! I will be babysitting my nephews one day a week and trying to partner with Tyler for his up and coming blog! We are so excited to blog together but finding time has been difficult.
Regardless of all the changes, I am grateful and excited for the future. There’s so many good things happening and I can’t wait to see where everything goes. Enjoy this beautiful weekend and take aim at what you love!

Over the weekend I spent some time catching up on work and hanging around some coffee shops (per usual). There’s nothing more comfortable that an oversized button down for the day. I like to pair them with tight fitting bottoms – skirt or skinny jeans – just to balance out the proportions and use the baggy shirt to flatter instead of bulk.
Last night I went to the Anaheim Packing House to eat with some friends and was blown away by how cool it was! Check out my instagram to see how amazing my dessert was. After reading Grain Brain, I’ve decided it’s my goal to give up gluten and sugar 95% of the time BUT 5% of the time – I’m just going to let life happen. If a wild berry popsicle with dark chocolate and pistachios walks in to my life… I’m going to enjoy a few bites! Life is all about the balance, right?!
