Whynot Coffee, Lower East Side Manhattan

Since I’m traveling so much again, I’ve been doing more and more city guides. Feel free to check out my guides to Venice Beach and Downtown LA if you haven’t already! I just left New York after an amazing week, and now I’m finally in the beautiful city of London! I cannot wait to explore London – this is my first time being here for fashion week so I have lots to see. In the mean time, I thought I’d put together a guide to Lower East Side Manhattan because that’s where I spent most of my time this past week. It is such a fun area with a lot of hidden gems. Definitely hoping to go back soon!

Mr Purple Rooftop Bar

Mr Purple: The main thing I love about Mr. Purple is the gorgeous rooftop views! I think New York is one of the best cities to view from up high, and I don’t mind sipping on a yummy drink at the same time!

Sixty Hotel: I stayed at this one during this past trip, and it is one of my new favorite places to stay! They also have a gorgeous rooftop view, and the rooms are so luxurious and comfy. Plus, I just love that it’s right in the middle of everything on the Lower East Side!

Lower East Side Manhattan Ice Cream

10Below: I just discovered this ice cream shop this week, and it became one of my favorite places! They have Thai-style ice cream rolls made with fresh ingredients on the spot! I may or may not be officially addicted.

The Meatball ShopAt the Meatball Shop, you can create your own bowls by choosing a sauce, your favorite veggies, eggs, etc. I really like places like this because you can pick and choose to get exactly what you’re in the mood for. This one is a pretty frequent stop for me usually!

Pizza BeachWhen it’s warm enough, I always like to eat outside here by the pretty, turquoise walls and beach vibes. They also have amazing rosé.

The Meatball Shop NYC

Ludlow Hotel: I borrowed these photos from Always Judging (because she captures the hotel so well!) – The hotel is known for it’s marble countertops and vintage gold hardware. I haven’t stayed there overnight yet, but it’s definitely on the bucket list!

Ludlow Hotel, Lower East Side Manhattan Tijuana Picnic

Tijuana Picnic: I think Tijuana Picnic is probably my very favorite in NYC (not sure why I haven’t taken photos there yet! These are from here and here). They obviously serve Mexican food, and they have amazing, really, really spicy jalapeño margaritas ( I love anything spicy). They also have a really fun night scene so they get really busy as it gets later.

Whynot CoffeeWhynot is another new one on my list. They kind of remind me of Stumptown in LA, because of that pretty, hipster feel and really good coffee. Photo on the left is from here!

Whynot Coffee Lower East Side Manhattan Assembly NYC Store

Assembly: I love Assembly in LA, and the NY location is equally beautiful! They’re store layout is dreamy for the minimalist in me and they have a lot of cute clothes.

Kiehl’s: Keihl’s is a really nice all natural skin, body and hair care place. Their products are amazing, and believe it or not they’ve actually started 165 years ago!! Crazy.

ReformationI always look forward to seeing this store because they have a little sign out front with cute phrases that they change every so often, like “Stay warm but look cute” or “More trees, less walls.” There’s also one of these in LA!

These are great spots to check out! I have lived in NYC for almost six years not and rarely venture to the LES. I love reading top picks for travelers to the city to find out spots I might be missing. I generally stay in my Tribeca/West Village bubble so the LES is kind of foreign to me. Glad to read about these spots!

So glad! I agree though – it’s almost harder to explore a city when you actually live there because you end up going to your favorite spots all the time instead of venturing out. I love the LES though – definitely worth a day trip when you have time!
