3 Reasons To Layer With Vests This Fall

I’ve been talking a lot lately about what to wear for fall because it is my favorite time of year for fashion and new beginnings and I’m always so nostalgic when the weather changes. I’m pretty excited because fall is officially just two days away (Sept 22nd!) I love adding layers to any outfit, which is part of why I love it when the weather gets a little chiller. But one of my favorite layers to add is vests. Here are 3 reasons to layer with vests this fall:

1. They add drama without stealing attention: They’re not outerwear, but they’re also not just a top. Vests definitely say that you put thought into your outfit and they add an extra subtle statement, but they don’t have to be the focal point. You can still wear another statement item, like exaggerated shoes, with a vest and not feel overdone. What do you guys think about these gladiator sandals?

2. They keep you warm, but not too warm: Fall tends to have those in-between days where a sweater is too warm but no sweater is too cold. Vests keep you a little warmer without the weight or constraint of a jacket: the happy medium!

I love the knit vests and linen vests (this one even has a hood), but there’s some pretty cute denim vests out there these days too.

3. They work on every body type: It’s really hard to go wrong with a vest. Since most vests tend to be fairly loose-fit, there’s nothing about them to make you feel too big, too short, too skinny or too tall.
