New York Fashion Week is always crazy from the moment I land, so it’s so hard to blog as I go. Instead, here’s one big recap of my week / a “Day in the Life of Michelle at NYFW”!
NYFW was amazing from the very start. I got upgraded to first class on the way there, which was awesome since I only slept 2 hours that night (I was up late packing last minute per ushe). I landed in NYC for day one of NYFW, and checked into the Ludlow Hotel, which is one of my favorite places to stay in the Lower East Side. I had just enough time to change, and then went straight to the French Connection Show, and then the Rebecca Taylor presentation right after. Both shows were so fun, and then I went back to the hotel and crashed (crazy day)!
The second day I went to the Cinq A Sept show. It was set up for high tea with coffee and tea sandwiches while they walked through a beautiful parlor room. It was probably my favorite show, and they even had a Mayflower type presentation at the end. The next event was the Stuart Weitzman presentation from their new designer, and everything was really awesome. Then I had a quick change to host the BCBG and Elle Magazine Lounge for NYFW, which was such an exciting opportunity. It was in a beautiful penthouse and had just the most amazing view!
I had already done a few quick changes that day, so why not add another (lol… this is how fashion week gets so cray!). I went back to the hotel and put on this gorgeous Lela Rose dress for a dinner party at the house of the designer herself (!!!). It looked like a storefront on one of the main streets in SoHo, with huge windows and even had a table that came down from the ceiling (amaze). We got a tour of her insane house, and ended the night in her tequila tasting room, where we took shots from himalayan sea salt shot glasses (whhhattt?). She is such an amazing host and nice person — definitely was a highlight of the trip.
The next day was the BCBG presentation, which I always look forward to because I love their pieces, and then I headed over to the RED Valentino show. After all those amazing shows, I went for a touristy trip to the Flatiron District, and got the best macchiato of my life in Eataly (one just opened in LA and I can’t wait to go)! I ran into some people that follow me on IG, which was such a cool experience (I love you guys… always say hi if you ever see me!). I ended the trip at Tijuana Picnic with some friends, which is my favorite Mexican restaurant in New York. Right after that, I found out about a last minute job in LA so I had to jet off the next day a littl early, but I’ll be back in a few weeks (maybe it’ll be a bit warmer). See you soon, NYC!
