About six months ago I was introduced to Animal Behavior – a clothing line based in Los Angeles. My first piece was this two-toned blazer that has become one of my favorite items to add to an outfit for a finished look. Today, I wanted to share a bit more about the company and why I’m so into what they’re doing to make a difference.
While being based in LA already racks up some brownie points in my book, I can’t help but admire the way their visuals, branding and mission align so well. Animal Behavior starts by creating designs that will be sustainable by using recyclable textiles and creating patterns that will reduce in waste. Coming from a production background with LOVE NAIL TREE, I know this is not the easy route to take! Fabrics that are good for the environment usually cost more AND creating patterns to reduce in waste can be very time consuming. The third tier of the company that really strikes a home run with me is that once the product is sold, 5% of sales goes towards Panthera.org to help protect animal’s natural habitats. I am so impressed and encouraged by the company and the intentional business they’ve created.
Because I started this blog with the intent to Take Aim in my life, I also want to share about other companies that are getting out there to do the same, whether in sustainability, charity or creativity. AIM is a section of my site that I plan to dig into much more often! I feel if we can collectively join together to raise awareness and support them, we’ll be able to take part in the change they’re initiating.
I’d love to hear about any businesses that you admire for their efforts. You can email me at info@takeaim.nu…or I’ll be adding a comment section back to my site soon!
