Details, Details

A lot of times, it’s the little things that go a long way, and the same is true for outfits. I love making a basic outfit (in this case, jeans and a white top) a little more interesting with some cute details. Here are a few of my favorites:

1. Zippers! A little metallic zipper that shows on the ankles of a pair of jeans, the back of a top, or the top of a skirt pocket is an easy way to make a piece unique. It’s nice that zippers are pretty neutral too, so you can wear them with anything, from ultra feminine to tomboy looks.

2. Platforms! I recently wrote a full post on platforms, because I basically can’t get enough. My favorite platforms are usually sneakers or sandals, so that I can still feel pretty casual and laid back, but I’m still wearing something a little different from the norm. (p.s. basically obsessed with these Rachel Comey shoes… how many days in a row is acceptable to wear?)

3. Neck Scarves! This is a major “come back” trend from the 40s and 50s and I think it’s super cute! A simple, short scarf worn like a choker is a good replacement for a statement necklace on those days when you want to feel a little comfier.

I love what a difference a few details can make. Wearing these on repeat!
