A couple weeks ago I took a drive up the coast with my good friend, Lisa. We visited a few fun spots in San Francisco, as well as the VSCO headquarters in Oakland, but most charming of all was the quaint beauty we experienced all along the way. Naturally, we pulled over for some photos!
If you’ve ever driven California’s coast then you know it’s about as scenic as it is remote. Because this two-day trip saw very little phone reception, I got to spend a lot of time gazing up and out upon some incredible views. Many times we had to pull over because it was too beautiful and we’d walk along empty beaches, or stand on the edges of cliffs and peer out upon miraculous sunsets.
For me, the trip held a dear reminder about the value of exploration and what it does for the mind, body, and soul. I saw how I needed to take more moments away from my to-do lists and tasks that tend to clutter up my mind, and to simply unplug for a while. And this trip was exactly what Lisa and I needed. It was so good, in fact, that we’re already planning another road trip in March…
One of the items I brought on the road trip was this Derek Lam fringe backpack. I love how minimal it is, despite being a statement item. I’m also a big fan of these distressed skinny jeans by Lovers & Friends. They have the perfect amount of stretch!
