There are literally probably billions of options when it comes to bags, and sometimes I feel like I need to pack 50 of them just to make sure I have exactly the right size and amount of pockets for every activity on whatever vacation I’m traveling to. But alas, most times it’s only practical to bring one or two, so the question of how to choose the right travel bag is key.
Personally, I think it totally depends on where you’re going and what you plan to do. It seems like your safest bet is a bag with a neutral color (goes with everything), lots of pockets (pockets = options), and really good zippers (a jammed zipper on vacation is the worst). For my Mexico trip, I had all of that in my Lo & Sons bag, and it worked out really well.
I got their Pearl bag, and probably the biggest reason I loved it is because it’s ultra-practical. It has the option of holding it as a clutch or putting on a long strap and making it a cross body (perfect for night time dress up or day time strolling), and there are a ton of different options for pockets inside. It even has perfectly sized and padded pockets for an iPad mini or a journal, a phone, and a pen. I felt like it was a really good way to get the function of multiple bags, but only take up the space in my suitcase of one. The premium Nappa leather is such great quality. Investing in quality will always win, especially for travel items and timeless pieces like the Pearl bag.
Lo & Sons actually specializes in travel bags, so they obviously know what they’re doing. They’re all about “Travel Light and Look Smart” – two things I don’t mind doing! Here are a few snapshots of the different ways I wore it in Mexico – from my casual airport attire, to the beach and even horseback riding!
