When I started my blog almost three years ago I called it TAKE AIM because this site is the best example of me pursuing what I love, but also because I wanted to share about other people and companies out there doing the same. I have always been inspired by people with unique ideas but it also takes incredible passion and determination to turn a dream into a reality. There’s a few updates happening behind the scenes of my site right now and you’ll soon see a new category called AIM where I will share more about these companies that are either start-ups, eco-friendly, locally-made or doing something to give back.
This morning I want to share about a company called Ix Style. I recently stumbled across these nude and white sandals on J Crew and loved the subtle take on the huarache sandal. These woven leather shoes are made by Guatemalan Mayan artisans and with each pair that’s sold, clean drinking water is donated to children and communities in Guatemala. You can read more about the company and the founder on the Ix Style site.
