Hello weekend! I'm headed to Temecula for the third weekend in a row for a cousin's baby shower and to hang with the family. I love love spending time with my family but driving down there so often is not the best part of my week... my brother (lives in LA as well) and I have been discussing (somewhat jokingly) an intervention with my parents to get them back in the OC area. I went to high school in Orange County and lived there most of my college years and miss having them such a short drive from LA. Mom and Dad, if you're reading this - next time it's your turn to drive to me! ;)

One part of fashion that we sometimes forget to talk about is those super important, very minimal basics -- the basics of the basics. I love stocking up on these because it's these pieces that allow you to also add in statement items, like this gold trim hat, without it being "too much." With the most minimal basics, I always try to go for better quality so that they will last me a long time and will fit well and be comfortable. Here are the seven things I have on my basics list and some of my picks for each category:

Wearing:

Lack of Color Hat (similar)| The Fifth Label Top | RE/DONE Jeans

1. WHITE TEES

2. BLACK JEANS

3. SIMPLE SANDALS

4. KNIT TANKS

5. BUTTON UP SHIRT

6. SOLID COLORED DRESS

7. DENIM SHORTS

There are sooo many great basics looks on Pinterest, and I've been pinning them to my board "Minimal Details" with other minimal styles that I love. These three are some of my recent favorites from that board... You can repin them here!
