I’ve learned a lot in the last several years about how important it is to take care of yourself and to prioritize your personal wellness. It can be so difficult to keep track of everything we’re supposed to do daily: drink lots of water, work out daily, maintain good relationships, protect your skin and hair, find a happy job, create lots of goals…the list goes on. There are so many different ways to take care of yourself. I think finding ways to stay healthy really does depend on each person and their needs, but here are three tips for personal wellness that I have found to be important difference makers:
1. Eat healthily – This is so obvious, but it also makes such a difference. When I’m eating healthily, I have more energy, more patience, more joy. I have a few go-to snacks that are pretty healthy (an apple, some cashews, etc.) for the moments that I get hungry between meals and want to avoid an easy bag of chips.
2. Take care of your skin – Clinique recently sent me their new 3 Step Skin Care System, and I really like it! The full system includes liquid facial soap, clarifying lotion and Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion. I love it when I can use the same brand for several skin-care steps, and Clinique is nice because they have a bunch of different options depending on your skin type. I also really love the lotion because it moisturizes without clogging your pores. Feels amazing!
3. Get regular exercise – My favorite form of exercise is my Pilates class in Downtown LA. I love the feeling of being pushed really hard and accomplishing a big challenge every day. Plus, exercise affects everything from your mood to your weight to your self-esteem. So important!
