It’s been a solid week of catching up since the madness of New York Fashion Week but here are some photos of my outfit and adventures from Day One.
You’ve seen this hat once, twice and I’m sure it will pop up again. I’m obsessed. Despite being in 10 degree weather while I was there – I had an itch to wear these beautiful Stuart Weitzman knee-highs with my new French Connection skirt and long vest. I must have complained a few times throughout the day but I’d have to say it was a good decision.

Some of the highlights from my trip:
Look at the view from our hotel room! Previously, I’ve stayed with Lisa in Brooklyn during fashion week. She has a cute place but the commute into the city each morning and back very late at night was a lot. We downloaded a cool, new app called Roomila and was able to score an amazing spot last minute. The App is really easy to navigate and there’s always last minute steals.
One of the first nights, I went to the top of The High Line hotel and enjoyed some wine with Lisa and Marcel. Such a gorgeous view and hotel.
The first show of the season for many people is the BCBG Maxazaria show. It’s at Lincoln Center in the main room – and I always enjoy the atmosphere and music as much as the new designs. This year the oversized turtlenecks and fur-accented jackets were top. I loved the collection and can’t wait until it’s out.
One of the mornings, I went to breakfast with the French Connection ladies and did some shopping after. The food was delicious (goat cheese omelette!) and the newest collection in the French Connection store is so, so good.
Hot chocolate in between freezing temps was amazing… the girls at Dolce Vita know the way to a girl’s heart.
The Honor show is always fun. The dresses are playful and feminine – almost from a fairy land.
Dressed in Cynthia Rowley for her party and the Barney’s NY party.
Simon Miller was my favorite presentation. Not only was the collection perfectly baggy, casual and cool – it was in the most amazing warehouse space with pillows to sit on next to candles while drinks are being served. THIS is how every show should be!
Ryan Roche was also a highlight. I love these layered nude outfits most. I took a moment to pretend I was a part of the crew.
