I try to hit up different cute coffee shops and insta-famous views every time, and last week's NYC trip a success. I think my highlights were Mr. Purple and Pizza Beach. Mr Purple is a really cool rooftop bar on the 15th floor of Hotel Indigo. They have amazinggg food and a beautiful view of the skyline. Pizza Beach is probably the most California place in New York (their website even says "New York meets Malibu") because of their fresh, vegan options, outdoor seating and beach cafe-feel. Mostly, I just like pizza, but I did appreciate a glimpse of SoCal during freezing temperatures. One night I didn't have a moment for dinner until super late and everything was closed except for a food truck called "Halal Guys." It turned out to be SO good and worth waiting in line for, and I just realized they actually have a location in downtown LA! I ended up having it the again the night I got back from my flight. Have you guys tired either the LA or NYC location? While I was there, I stayed at one of my go-to NYC hotels, 1 Hotel Central Park. It's literally right next to Central Park, which is one of my favorite spots in Manhattan. Everything there is organic and recycled (even the room keys!), so it creates a really unique, natural environment that I have never seen in another hotel! My favorite things about my room is the cute little nook that has a window overlooking central park (where I chose to eat my lunch one day) and the stunning bathroom (pictured below.) They're also starting a new campaign right now called 1 Less Thing. A box is left in each guest room at all of the 1 Hotel locations and guests are encouraged to leave lightly worn clothing to benefit the non-profit Housing Works. What a cool idea for the new year, when we're especially reminded of how much we have to be grateful for and how we can be making a difference for others. My Second Home / NYC Trip

I feel like New York is becoming my second home, because I’ve found myself walking its pretty streets almost every other month in the past year. I try to hit up different cute coffee shops and insta-famous views every time, and last week’s NYC trip a success. I think my highlights were Mr. Purple and Pizza Beach. Mr Purple is a really cool rooftop bar on the 15th floor of Hotel Indigo. They have amazinggg food and a beautiful view of the skyline. Mostly, I just like pizza, but I did appreciate a glimpse of SoCal during freezing temperatures.

One night I didn’t have a moment for dinner until super late and everything was closed except for a food truck called “Halal Guys.” It turned out to be SO good and worth waiting in line for, and I just realized they actually have a location in downtown LA! I ended up having it the again the night I got back from my flight. Have you guys tired either the LA or NYC location?
