A couple of weeks ago I went on a family vacation to Paradise Point in San Diego. Look at the view above! This was the patio to our beautiful room on the bay. It was such a peaceful getaway where we all had rooms just a few minutes away from one another (it’s a pretty big resort) and were able to gather for meals, swimming and bonfires. Since I’ve been flying to a few new places each month, it was so nice to drive just a couple hours and be on vacation.
We definitely spent our first full day right outside our room on the beach. The water was clear and a beautiful blue – safe to say we were content catching up and relaxing on the sand with some mixed drinks in hand. I have three nephews and a niece now… I could spend hours holding them and watching them play in the water. This trip was so special!

The first evening we arrived, Tyler and I slipped away for an incredible dinner at the restaurant at the resort called Tidal. The cocktails were great and each dish impressed. Below are the appetizers we chose. The soup was mind-blowing.

For dinner I got my favorite – Diver Scallops. Tyler got Pork Cheek and said it melted in his mouth…
By the time dessert rolled around, we were a few drinks in and had the sensibility to order two desserts… as if we both needed our own. I chose Strawberry Rhubarb and Tyler got the cake-like donuts. Amazing. If you’re local to San Diego, this restaurant stands alone and you should take a table by the water and enjoy the experience!

The most memorable part of the weekend was taking a Sunset Duffy Cruise. Saturday evening we set out on the water with some champagne and the good company of my parents, my sister and her two boys. We saw sea lions, which the boys loved!
I’m so glad we took the time to have a family weekend… the older I get and the less often I get to see my family, I realize how grateful I am for them. My two sisters are my best friends, my parents support me and help me with anything I need, my brothers are sweet and funny… and my nieces/nephews are everything! If you’re planning a family trip – or are in need of a family vacation – check out Paradise Point!
