I spent Mother’s Day with my family at The Amado in Palm Springs, and it couldn’t have been more ideal for our big group. If you haven’t heard of the Amado, you might recognize it if you saw the orange door in the front. Even for people who don’t stay there overnight, The Amado’s orange doors are a pretty famous photo op in Palm Springs!
I was really excited to stay there because of the decor. Everything is beeeautifully decorated with mid century modern furniture mixed with desert textures and colors. There is so much gorgeous white space and natural light in all of the rooms, and we had our own private pool. If you rent out the entire place, it can fit 16 people total in all the units combined, or you can just rent individual rooms that fit about 4-6 people depending on which one you choose.
We spent the evenings mostly enjoying the pool and the barbecue in the back. Palm Springs is such a gorgeous and interesting town (I’m still dying to see the Desert X Mirror House!), but we honestly didn’t explore very much this time because the Amado was such a perfect place to hang out on it’s own, especially with my family there.
I actually found it through Air Bnb, and there are so many other amazing places listed on there for Palm Springs and Joshua Tree. Adding a whole bunch more to my bucket list as we speak!
