The Saturday before Christmas is a busy day for most but today I’m moving at a slow pace. I have plenty to do, yet I needed to take some time to organize my home and my mind! I’ve been transitioning in and out of jobs and responsibilities and I needed to take a few hours to just think : ) The madness will have to wait until tomorrow for me.
One of the fun parts about the holidays is all the things we do to generate feelings of nostalgia and tradition. I’m a big fan of starting traditions. It fills my heart that my husband and I will have a card and an ornament for each year we’ve been married. I love that we spend the last moments of Christmas Eve and the first moments of Christmas morning just the three of us (can’t forget about our dog Austin!)
Plaid is one of those things! We wear it and feel cozy and think of being around a fireplace drinking hot cocoa. This skirt is great because it has a plaid print but also a unique midi shape.
To keep my look from feeling too young, I paired the skirt with a mature, cashmere sweater and manly watch. The ankle boots also dress things down a little.
The green in the skirt and boots aren’t a typical match but I liked it.
Tonight we are hosting a Christmas dinner for the homeless that live around our warehouse/home in downtown. I hope to give more than just a plate of food for those out there that are struggling to survive. Something that I read recently that always is a good reminder: People often forget that kindness is free. Hope you’re spending your Saturday in good cheer and looking forward to the week ahead.
